NGC 1501

NGC 1501, also called the Oyster Nebula, is a planetary nebula visible in the constellation of the Giraffe, about four thousand light years away from the solar system.
The nebula has the form of an ellipsoid of low eccentricity: it has magnitude 13.3 and an apparent diameter of 52 ".
