The M64 Galaxy is a spiral visible in the constellation of the Berenice's Chioma.
In front of the bright galactic center there is an evident dark band of dust that absorbs light, hence the nickname "Black Eye".
The distance of M64 is estimated to be about 17 million light years from Earth.
