M11 (sometimes also known as the Wild Duck Cluster or with the acronym NGC 6705) is an open cluster visible in the Scutum constellation.
With a magnitude of 6.3 and an apparent size of 14 ', it is one of the richest and densest open clusters known, with an estimated population of around 2900 stars.
It is 6000 light years from Earth and has an estimated age of 250 million years.
