M 78 (NGC 2068) in Orion constellation is a bright reflection nebula, part of a group of other nebulas visible in the image (NGC 2064, NGC 2067, NGC 2071).

The two stars that illuminate the dust of the nebula, giving it the blue color, are HD 38563A e HD 38563B, with magnitude 10.

The distance of the whole complex from Earth is about 1600 light years.
