About image

M65 is one of the components of Leo Triplet group of galaxies visible in Leo constellation.

It is a spiral galaxy of Sa class but the spiral arms are not so well visible because the galaxy is seen from an oblique angle; they are crossed by a system of dark dusts quite evident in this image.

The distance of M65 from the Milky Way is 22 million light years.
